Q:
Can I use my mp3's as
a ringtone on an LG enVtouch?
A:
Why, yes. Yes you can. You need to know a bit
about Windows and be comfortable handling flash drives,
etc.. but its not that difficult. |
Here's what you need:
-
An
LG enVtouch cell phone with removable memory (micro SD)
- A program
to
edit mp3's as a sound wave (Sound Forge, etc.)
Here we go.......

-
Remove
microSD
card from phone
[PiC]
-
Put into an adapter or otherwise use your PC to read it
[PiC]
-
Load your chosen mp3 into your sound editor program
-
Crop out 10-20 seconds to be used as the ringtone
-
Reduce the volume to 25% of the original volume
[PiC]
-
Resample the wave to 22100 Hz
-
Save as a WAV file
-
File has to be smaller than 3 megs
-
Copy this WAV file to the
my_sounds
folder on your
microSD
card.
[PiC]
-
Put the
microSD
back into your phone
-
Flip phone open and go to
MENU,
then
MEDIA CENTER
(2nd line)
[PiC]
-
Go
into
MUSIC & TONES
-
Go
into
MY
SOUNDS
[PiC]
-
Find the WAV file you just added and highlight it
-
Click
SET AS,
then
CONTACT ID,
then pick the friend(s) that you want to play this WAV when
they call
[PiC]
-
Click
OK
-
Now, when they call, you'll hear the WAV instead of the
default ringtone
-
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
- END
